David I. DeFriest of Southold and Flagler Beach, Florida died on February 6, 2014. He was 97 years old.
Dave had been a licensed funeral director and was the founder of the DeFriest Funeral Home in Southold in 1940 which later grew to include locations in Mattituck and Shelter Island.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later this afternoon.
