Southold woman searches for missing cat, Coo

As the weather turns cold, a Southold woman is searching desperately for her missing cat, Coo.

According to Indian Neck Lane resident Terry Pontino, Coo has one blue eye and one gold, and is all white, except for a bit of gray on her head and tail.

“She’s very timid,” she said.

At first, a few months ago, Pontino said the door had been left open and the cat got out, chased by the family’s dog Daisy.

Coo “lived in the neighbor’s yard” for approximately three months, coming back home to the driveway, garage, and sometimes, inside the house. And yet, Coo still made visits to the neighbor’s house, she said.

Then, about two weeks ago, Pontino saw Coo, the last time she’s seen her since. “She was really thin. I tried to get her to eat, but she couldn’t eat,” she said.

Pontino said she’s afraid her beloved kitty might be sick, or worse.

Pontino, saddened after her last cat passed, had adopted Coo and her feline brother Billy.

Worried, she said, “I want her home before it gets so cold.”
