Joseph W. Hackal of Riverhead died at home on December 1, 2014. He was 100 years old.
Hackal was born on March 4, 1914 to John and Mary Hackal in Calverton.
He worked as a game warden for New York State.
He enjoyed the outdoors and in his leisure could be found gardening, fishing, hunting, trapping and gambling.
Predeceased by his wife Erna in 2006 and a daughter, Sharon Kooney, in 2009, he is survived by his daughter Barbara Kujawski of Mattituck. He is survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
