Ann Melosh, 92

Ann Melosh, a former resident of Riverhead and Mattituck died November 20, 2014 in Goodyear, Arizona. She was 92 years old.

Born February 14, 1922 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Anthony and Vingenza Grecco.

She attended the Fashion Institute of Design High School in Brooklyn. She owned Beiers Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant in Floral Park for 53 years. She was honored with a Confectioner of the Year award for her ice cream-making abilities.

She married Arthur Melosh in June 1970.

Melosh was a former Columbiette with the Cutchogue Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Italian-American Club and St. John’s University Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing bocci and cards, baking and gardening, her family said.

Predeceased by her husband in 2004, she is survived by her children, Phyllis Kovach, Philip Ferrara and Vivian Harris, as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Riverhead, the Rev. Larry Duncklee officiating.
