The East Marion Fire Department played Santa Claus last weekend, spreading Christmas cheer and presents to happy children.
“Santa”, or Chief Frank Thorp, set out with his elves, a large team of members from the East Marion Fire Department, aboard their heavy rescue truck and ambulance to give around 30 children presents, according to Greg Valente.
The firefighters went to homes of children in Greenport and East Marion to spread holiday cheer. All toys were purchased at Goldsmith’s in Greenport, fire department officials said. The firetruck was decorated festively for the fun.
