Claudio’s owner confirms that waterfront parcel is on the market

After years as a landmark in Greenport Village, the future of Claudio’s could be uncertain.

Claudio’s owner Bill Claudio confirmed Friday night that the waterfront parcel on which the restaurant is sited is on the market. “That is correct,” he said.

According to an article in the Daily News, the two-acre property on which Claudio’s — the oldest same-family run restaurant in the country — sits, was put on the market so that the Claudio’s could “explore” the climate of the market.

Currently, the parcel is home to three restaurants, a snack bar, two souvenir shops and parking — and Claudio’s has long been known as a bastion of the community and a magnet for scores of tourists who have flocked to the eateries for over 140 years.

The Daily News article states that the property has “no official asking price,” and is listed with Guthrie Garvin of Cushman & Wakefield.
