Virginia L. Sledjeski died January 21, 2015 at her home in Cutchogue surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old.
She was born in Riverhead on August 19, 1920 to Frank and Mary (Leczynski) Pierzchanowki.
Sledjeski found great joy in her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and canning vegetables and jellies. She loved babysitting her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband, Leo, in 1977, Sledjeski is survived by her son, Leo, of Mattituck; her daughters, Carol Ann Sendlewski of Cutchogue, Gertrude Bokina of Cutchogue and Leona White of Riverhead; her sister Alice Galka as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster Heppner Funeral Home. A service will be held Saturday, January 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church.
