Barbara O. Cameron of Greenport died at her home on January 30, 2015. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 21, 1934 to Adelaide (nee Benedetti) and Armando Berchiolli. Raised in Northport, LI, she attended schools there and was Valedictorian of her graduating class from Northport High School.
Formerly of Huntington Station, LI, she moved to Greenport, LI thirty years ago.
An avid reader of books, she enjoyed gardening, thrift shops, eating jelly beans and going out to eat; especially breakfast.
She also enjoyed looking after her neighbors in the Driftwood Cove and Greenport community. Family members said she was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Robert L. Cameron on March 12, 2010; she leaves her daughters Janet Frost of Clifton, VA, Joan Torkelsen of Southold, Donna Topczynski of Clifton, VA and Glenn Cameron of Mt. Sinai; a brother Kent Berchiolli of California; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Greenport. Reverend Richard Hoerning will officiate. Interment will follow at the Calverton National Cemetery.
