Howard W. Darrow, a resident of Riverhead for more than 50 years, died on February 24, 2015. He was 88 years old.
He was born in East Moriches on August 11, 1926 to Hudson Darrow and Charlotte Carter. He went on to attend Moriches High School.
A mason for more than 60 years, a job which he loved, Darrow also served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. He was also a member of the Riverhead Moose Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hudson and Charlotte, wife Mary Boden, daughter Eileen Lessard, son Edward and his daughter-in-law Roseanna. Darrow is survived by his children, Frank of Calverton, William of Yaphank and Shirley Lewin of Calverton, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home on Friday, February 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service and interment will follow that morning at St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to East End Hospice: http://www.eeh.org/don.html
