A Mattituck man busted for driving while intoxicated was driving without a valid license or registration, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Gonzalo Ramiro-Lopez, 31, was arrested on Monday at 4:21 p.m. and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 25 in Mattituck.
Police said a computer check revealed that the vehicle’s registration was suspended because the driver had no insurance. A second computer check revealed that Ramirez-Lopez had a suspended driver’s license, pending prosecution for a DWI, police said.
Ramirez-Lopez was arrested and processed at Southold Police headquarters, police said; he was released on bail and a court date.
