Louis Gatz Jr., 71, of Riverhead died April 14, 2015 at Peconic Bay Medical Center.
He was born to Louis Gatz Sr. and Doris Sneed on April 14, 1944. Gatz went on to work as a truck driver for Jay W. Guild Wholesale in Peconic.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Tyte; sons Peter Gatz of Shirley and Thomas W. Dannenberg of Riverhead; daughter Eve L. Gatz Schwamborn of Riverhead; sisters Mary Gatz and Sophie Schmidt of Riverhead and granddaughter Lillyanna Eve Gatz.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Friday, April 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
