Edith Krupski, 89

Edith B. Krupski of Mattituck, formerly of Bridgehampton, died on June 22, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born on September 12, 1925 and grew up on the family farm in Bridgehampton, the fifth of eight children, and graduated from the Bridgehampton School. In 1953 she was married to Anthony Krupski, of Mattituck, where she joined him on the potato farm and lived for over 60 years.

She was a great cook and loved preparing traditional homemade Polish foods for her family including pierogi, kielbasa, cabbage, potato platski, baked beans, homemade bread, strawberry shortcake and cheesecake. She mastered the art of canning and freezing and was known for her dill and bread and butter pickles, canned cauliflower and chow chow. Devoted to her family, she and her husband, Tony, hosted many Easter celebrations and summer barbecues. She never forgot a birthday or holiday and was a loving, thoughtful and generous aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Always cheerful and kind, she had many good friends and was an active member of Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church in Cutchogue. She loved listening to Polish music and dancing the polka and attended many events at the Riverhead Polish Hall and the Moose Lodge with Tony over the years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony Krupski, her parents Pauline and Stanley Graboski of Bridgehampton, and her sister Sophie Zebrowski of Southampton; and four brothers, Vincent Graboski of East Hampton, Stanley Graboski of Bridgehampton, John Graboski of Lindenhurst, and Edmond Graboski of Bridgehampton; and her godson and nephew Teddy Graboski of Bridgehampton. She is survived by her sister, Helen Konopka, of Georgia, her brother Benny Graboski and his wife Nancy of Bridgehampton, her niece and godchild Lorraine Mitchell and her husband Doyle of Georgia, her nephew and godchild Eugene Krupski and his wife Maryann and great niece and nephew Drew and Nicole Ann of Mattituck, and niece Patricia Krupski of Mattituck, along with many devoted nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church in Cutchogue at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
