As if the Tall Ships festival wasn’t enough of a party, the July 4 celebration continued with a carnival and fireworks in Greenport Saturday night.
Greenport Fire Department’s Relief Hose Co and Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. presented an annual carnival on the Polo Grounds on Moores Lane, which kicked off on Wednesday. The event featured rides, games of chance, sausage and peppers, candy apples and other festival fare— as well as a spectacular fireworks display.
Hundreds of spectators brought lawn chairs to enjoy the show.
The carnival runs through tomorrow, with fireworks scheduled again for 10 p.m. tomorrow night.
