26th Annual Boy Scout Car Show revs up Saturday

A tradition that’s brought years of memories for generations of families revs up Saturday as the 26th Annual Boy Scout Car Show takes place in Peconic.

The event, to be held at the Peconic Lane School on Peconic Lane, takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes antique, stream, classic, collector, street rod, customer cars and trucks. The cut-off date for cars is 1995.

Muscle cars and Model Ts will be among the rainbow of brightly colored cars that will conjure up a lifetime of memories as guests head back to the past.

Also featured will be a picnic area, playground, refreshments and food; guests are invited to bring a blanket.

One hundred trophies will be awarded with dash plaques given to the first 200 show cars. Participants are asked to please have cars on the field by noon.

Fees for pre-registered car and driver are $15 or $20 at the gate; vehicles pre-registered before 1942 are free. Cars for sale add $20. Only auto-related vendors add $30.

Admission costs $5; kids under 12 are free. The event is presented by Troop 6 Committee to benefit Southold’s Boy Scout Troop #6.
