After an extensive search, a man was found dead in the waters near Goose Creek in Southold yesterday, police said.
The man, 27, was originally reported missing in the area of Main Bayview Road by his girlfriend Saturday, Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley said; a kayak was reported missing, as well.
Police marine units searched local waters until the discovery of his body at approximately 3:20 yesterday, Flatley said. He was found in the area where he was first reported missing, he added.
The incident appears to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
