Oysterponds Elementary School PTA in Orient is hosting a tick-safety awareness information session on Tuesday, May 3 at 6 p.m. at the Oysterponds Elementary School.
The PTA has planned an informative session with well-known tick-borne disease expert, Jerry Simons PA-C. Attendees will be given free tick kits, courtesy of the Tick-Borne Disease Research Center at Southampton Hospital. The Tick Kits contain all you need to be prepared for tick bites — including pointy tweezers, magnifier, first-aid supplies, and Tick ID Card — all packaged in a kit you can hang on your backpack or put in your pocket.
