Sophie M. Niewadomski of Riverhead died at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson on May 14, 2016. She was 88 years old.
She was born May 5, 1928 in Riverhead to Peter and Martha Kruk.
She worked in the dairy department of Bohack and then as the manager of the dairy department in King Kullen until her retirement. In her spare time she took pleasure in doing crossword puzzles, reading, and enjoying her yard full of flowers and birds.
Predeceased by her husband Walter, her sister Virginia Lebrun of Speonk, her brothers Peter Kruk, Antone Kruk, Edward Kruk, and Chester Kruk, she is survived by her sisters Frances Allen of Riverhead, Cecelia McMullen of Bartlett, Illinois, and Barbara Neighbor of Shirley.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 18 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
