Russell L. Salerno of Mattituck died June 8, 2016. He was 67 years old.
Born in Brooklyn in 1948 to Lucy and Philip Salerno, he was the devoted husband of Barbara.
Russ served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he became self-employed as the owner and manager of rental properties in New York and Long Island.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Mission Church in Mattituck. Interment with U.S. Army honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Humane Society would be appreciated.
