Cutchogue man charged with grand larceny in Southold auto theft

A Cutchogue man was arrested on a grand larceny charge in connection with a vehicle reported stolen from the parking lot of a Southold restaurant Sunday, according to town police.

Alexander C. Ellioff, 30, is facing the felony larceny charge when he was caught driving a vehicle that had just been reported stolen by a patron at 631 Restaurant on Route 25 in Southold Sunday morning, according to a Southold Police press release issued this afternoon.

Officers responding to the call spotted the vehicle and pulled it over. Ellioff, who was driving, was taken into custody and placed under arrest, police said.
