Stephen R. Magee of Riverhead died August 9, 2016 in Southampton Hospital. He was 69 years old.
He was born on October 18, 1946 in Queens to Robert and Ruth Magee.
He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 and was very proud to be a Vietnam veteran. On August 1, 1981 he married Nancy Ruthinowski. He worked as a custodian at the Riverhead Senior Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed NASCAR, Riverhead Raceway and stamp and coin collecting.
Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his wife Nancy, his sons Joseph and Brian of Riverhead, his brother Glenn and his sister Kay, both of Riverhead.
The family will receive visitors on August 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A service is scheduled for August 12 at 10 a.m at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Kent Animal Shelter or a charity of choice.
