Erratic driver with 19 license suspensions caught with heroin: Southold Police

A Manorville man stopped for erratic driving was arrested for possession of heroin and driving with a revoked license, Southold Town Police said in a press release last night.

Police said Kristopher O’Connell, 29, of Manorville, was stopped while driving eastbound on Route 48 in Mattituck at 6:45 Friday morning, after police received a report of a Dodge Durango operating erratically. O’Connell’s driver license had been revoked with 19 suspensions, police said. He was also found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle containing heroin, according to the police report.

O’Connell was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and released on bail to return at a later date, police said.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
