In a well-played game by both teams, Southold held on for the 2-1 win over Greenport this afternoon at Southold High School.

The Settlers were in control of the ball for most of the first half, and took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a Zach Grathwohl goal.

The Porters were a different team in the second half, as they controlled the flow of play, keeping the ball in the Southold zone for extended periods of time.

The Settlers added a second goal by Ryan Herman on a free kick, which was followed by a Porters goal by Mateo Arias. The Porters put the pressure on Southold, having several good scoring chances, but the Settlers held on for the win.
