Turkey Day 5K: Mattituck teachers association’s annual Thanksgiving run will benefit C.A.S.T., scholarship fund

Mattituck-Cutchogue Teachers Association will hold its 11th Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K, an event that draws thousands to Mattituck each year to raise money for scholarships and charitable causes.

Proceeds from this years race will benefit C.A.S.T., the Learning Disabilities Association of New York and the Mattituck-Cutchogue Teachers Association Senior Scholarship Fund (to be awarded in June 2017).

The race will kick off from Mattituck High School at 9 a.m. (see route below). Awards will be given to the first, second and third place male and females in age categories eight and under, nine to 12, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69 and 70 and up.

T-shirts will be given to the first 300 registrants. Pre-registration can be completed online or sent in by mail (must be postmarked by Nov. 18). Forms are available on Mattituck Union Free School District’s website.

Pre-registration can be done online for $25 per runner. Same-day registration is available from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. for $30 at Mattituck High School.
