Bagels and bowling: ‘Strike out Substance Abuse’ series for local teens will be held at The All Star in Riverhead

Southold Town Communities That Care is teaming up with The All Star bowling lanes in Riverhead to present a series of events on substance abuse prevention for local teens this winter.

The events will take place on several Sunday mornings from November through January, and they will include bagels and a game of bowling, along with a 15-minute lesson from Lions Quest Prevention on preventing substance abuse.

The events are open to Suffolk County kids ages 10 to 15 and cost $5 each.

Southold Town Communities That Care is a coalition of local government, schools, parent teacher associations, senior citizens, youth programs, media, law enforcement, businesses, hospitals, medical practitioners, treatment centers and providers.

The “Strike Out Substance Abuse” events will be held 10 a.m. to noon on the following Sundays: November 20, December 4, December 11, December 18, January 8, January 15 and January 29.
