An estimated 1,000 runners turned out Thanksgiving morning for the Mattituck-Cutchogue Teachers Association’s 11th annual turkey trot in Mattituck.
This year’s 5K run/walk benefits Community Action of Southold Town (CAST), the MCTA Senior Scholarship award and the Learning Disabilities Association of New York.
Jonathan Cusick, 26, of Somerville, Mass. finished first with a time of 16:38.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Mary Baughman of Henrietta, NY with a time of 18:13.
