Shellfish lovers pack Greenport’s eateries for sold-out Shellabration weekend

Shellabration is a shellout.

Organizers of the weekend-long event in Greenport Village sold all 1,100 wristbands for the fundraising event. The bands entitle wearers to special deals at participating restaurants and merchants. The proceeds from the wristband sales support Cornell Cooperative Extension’s marine programs, the Back to the Bays Initiative and the community shellfish restoration efforts of CCE’s Suffolk Project in Aquaculture Training (SPAT) Program.

Wristband-wearing participants enjoyed $5 small plates featuring local shellfish paired with $3 pours of local wine or beer at 17 participating eateries throughout the village.
