Santa catches the train to Greenport for Railroad Museum Holiday Open House

The noontime train pulled into the Greenport Long Island Railroad station six minutes late yesterday, and for a good reason: it had made an extra stop at the North Pole to pick up a special guest.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were greeted by a crowd of children gathered for the open house at the Railroad Museum yesterday afternoon. After giving out high fives and handshakes – and almost losing his drawers – Santa made his way inside the museum and took photos with kids, taking note of their Christmas wishes.

The museum gave out gift bags to the children and provided snacks and cookies for both kids and Santa. As boys and girls lined up to talk to Santa Claus, they admired the miniature displays of the Long Island Railroad stops across the East End.
