A school bus carrying 18 students was rear-ended on Main Road in Peconic Friday afternoon, Southold Town Police said in a press release issued this morning.

No one on the bus was injured in the accident, police said.

The bus was stopped in the roadway in Peconic, near town police headquarters at about 3:25 Friday afternoon with its red lights flashing waiting to discharge a student when a 2004 Ford Focus operated by Cornelius Schloth, 84, of Southold struck the bus in the rear, police said. Both vehicles were damaged in the crash.
