June Leven Barth of Aquebogue died unexpectedly on Feb. 16, 2017 at her home. She was 69 years old.
Born in Rochester New York on March 16, 1947, she was adopted at birth by Goldie and Eli Leven. June was an active child who enjoyed swimming and loved playing with animals. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1965. She went on to attend Harcum Junior College and Long Island University. She received her bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in guidance.
June was a physical education teacher at Westhampton Beach Junior High School, where she also coached girls basketball for many years.
In 1983 June transitioned to her most favorite job, being a mother to Rachel and Lauren. She took an active role in Rachel’s theatrical and dance career and Lauren’s equestrian career.
Predeceased by her parents Dr. Eli and Goldie Leven, she is survived by her daughters, Rachel Seebode (Keith) and Lauren Barth, her granddaughters, Gabriella and Savannah, her brother David Leven and her sister-in-law Marianne Artusio, her niece Carolyn, and nephew Carson, as well as many cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, 406 East Main St., Riverhead. Calling hours: Saturday Feb. 18, 7-9 p.m.; Sunday Feb. 19 10 a.m.- 12 noon; memorial service at 11:30 a.m.
