The magic ride is over for Mattituck. All the comeback wins and super-close games finally caught up to the Tuckers tonight at SUNY/Old Westbury, where they ran into a slick-passing, quick, and pinpoint group of shooters from Irvington.

The game was never really close, with Mattituck always looking to close the gap but never succeeding. The Tuckers headed into the locker room after the first half trailing Irvington 34-19.

They wouldn’t give up though, always looking for the best shot and trying to get more rebounds from a tall Irvington team under the hoop. Coach Van Dood tried some last-minute changes, hoping to pump life into Mattituck. Liz Dwyer did her best to get shots away, but she was double-teamed most of the evening. Despite the efforts of Jane DiGregorio, Corrine Reda and Chelsea Marlborough to pick up the slack, it was not to be. Irvington walked away with the victory 62-37.
