Southold High School Drama Club presents “Les Misérables,” one of the great classics of literature, as their spring musical this month.  Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, it tells the story of Jean Valjean, a French criminal jailed for nearly two decades for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child.

“Les Misérables” has played on stages in theaters all over the world and this school edition will be performed entirely by a cast of over 50 students.

Performances of “Les Misérables” will be held Thursday March 23, Friday March 24, and Saturday March 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday March 26 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium.

Advance purchase tickets are now available at the Southold Free Library for $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. If you plan on purchasing tickets at the door, please arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to curtain time.

Directed by Jessica Ellwood and Casey Rooney.  Musical Direction by Kelli J. Baumann.  Choreography by Anita Boyer.  Pit Orchestra Direction by Karl Himmelmann.
