Current and veteran service members who are planning to marry are invited to enter Peconic Landing’s 7th annual “Veterans Day Wedding Giveback” for a chance to win a free dream wedding at Brecknock Hall in Greenport.

The contest, which began in 2011 as a way to say thank you to Long Island military personnel, is made possible through sponsorship and contributions from local businesses and organizations.

The winning couple will be chosen by a panel of Peconic Landing’s veteran members who will judge based on number of years served, special military honors, contributions to the community and each couple’s personal story. Couples must be available for interviews via Skype or in person.

The wedding, valued at $60,000, will take place on Nov. 12 and will accommodate up to 80 guests.

“This giveaway has become a highlight event for our community and the veteran members involved,” said Robert Syron, president and CEO of Peconic Landing. “We are proud to host this celebration in support of the men and women serving our country and want to thank all of our business partners who help make this day possible.”

Applicants can visit Brecknock Hall’s website to enter. The application deadline is Friday, April 21 and couples who have entered in the past are encouraged to re-enter.

Those wishing to contribute can contact Valerie Tirelli, Brecknock Hall Sales & Events Coordinator at info@brecknockhall.com.
