Edward C. Klein of East Quogue died at Southside Hospital on April 16, 2017. He was 62 years old.
He was born on June 13, 1954 in Farmingdale to William C. Klein and Barbara Brandel.
He earned a bachelor’s degree and was the school lunch director for the Central Islip Public Schools district.
He was a softball coach for six years. He loved the ocean and will be greatly missed by all, his family said.
He is survived by his daughters Tracey McGarvey (Kevin) and Melinda English (Matt), his sisters Kathleen Lankau and Treesha Klein, his brothers William, Robert, Thomas, Michael, James, Joseph and Charles, his grandchildren Marin and Enna McGarvey and Mae English, his best friend and companion Darlene Firneno, 21 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 21 at 10:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church with Rev. Lawrence Dunklee officiating.
