The Mattituck Chamber of Commerce is bringing back its popular First Fridays event for the third year and adding new features that will broaden its reach.

Originally focused solely on Love Lane businesses, the enhanced First Fridays will also include member businesses throughout Mattituck and will be an all-day event with promotions and specials.

Also new this year will be themes to coincide with holidays that fall on or near the first Friday of the month. The theme for May will be Cinco de Mayo.

According to Danielle Lasacala, Mattituck Chamber of Commerce president, this year’s First Fridays will be more family-oriented with special activities for children and more outdoor seating.

“We’d love to see more families come down and have a good time,” said Lascala. “The evening event on Love Lane is meant to be more community driven. This year it will be more kid-friendly with games, a face painter and more involvement by the toy store.”

Love Lane will again be closed off to traffic from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., creating a pedestrian mall where visitors can enjoy live music, local artisanal products, crafts, food and wine in a block party style setting.

Information on participating businesses and specials will be available on the First Fridays Facebook page.
