Paulette Ofrias of Southold was officially recognized as the 2017 NY State Senate Woman of Distinction from the First District at a ceremony in Albany yesterday.

“Paulette Ofrias’ civic-minded contributions have positively affected her community and established a legacy for future generations,” said Senator Ken LaValle in a press release.

Ofrias has been a member of the Southold Board of Education for 14 years and served as president for the past five. She has championed successful relationships between the Southold and Greenport school districts and her efforts have led to the sharing of programs, administrators and sports teams.

Ofrias is also a member of the board of directors of the Southold School Educational Foundation, the Southold Rotary and is an active volunteer in her community.

In 2014 she was honored with a business award by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the Scott Family Pharmacy.

Ofrias and her husband Greg own the Southold and Shelter Island Pharmacies and are the parents of two adult children.
