Cops: Unlicensed man drove drunk, vomited out the door of his car

An unlicense Greenport man was slapped with a felony driving while intoxicated charge after he was found vomiting out the driver’s side door of his car in the village on Friday, police said.

According to Southold Town police, Chua Sandoval, 30, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. on New York State Route 25 near Chapel Lane in Greenport. Police said Sandoval had been driving a 1999 Volkswagen sedan east on Route 25 when he pulled over to the side of the road and was seen throwing up from the open driver’s side door.

Police said he was found to be intoxicated and was charged wth aggravated DWI, a felony, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, as well as driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle with improper license plates.

Chua was processed and held overnight awaiting arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
