A Greenport man was cuffed after he was caught driving drunk and unlicensed on Monday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, Alfredo Argueta, 27, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. on Monday on Route 48 and Ackerly Pond Lane in Southold after he was caught heading east on Route 48, failing to maintain his lane and causing other vehicles to veer out of his way to avoid contact. Argueta was stopped and found to be intoxicated, arrested, and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, driving without a license and failure to maintain his lane, police said.
He was transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment, police said.
