Bogumila (“Boga”) Pedziwiatr-Dannenberg of Riverhead died Dec. 19, 2017 at the Kanas Center in Quiogue. She was 69 years old.
She was born in Germany on July 14, 1948, the daughter of Stefan and Maria (Oszceda) Pedziwiatr.
She immigrated to the United States in 1953 via steamer from Bremerhaven, Germany, passing through Ellis Island in New York City.
After her graduation from high school, she attended the College for Hotel Management.
Boga loved working at Tepper’s Luncheonette as a soda jerk. She went on to work at the former Holiday Inn on West Main Street, working her way up to general manager of the hotel in a period of six months. She was later employed at a title agency and at Peconic Bay Medical Center as an emergency room registration clerk. She had made a lasting impression and always had a smile on her face, her family said.
Predeceased by her parents and her husband, she is survived by her daughters Anne Marie Grossman and Lisa Sperano, her sisters Yolanda Naugles and Elizabeth Spero, her brother Jerry Sawicki, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Cremation was private. Tuthill-Mangano Funeral home is assisting the family.
