Raymond L. Booker, a lifelong resident of Riverhead, died at his home on Dec. 20, 2017. He was 94 years old.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1923 in Riverhead to Fletcher and Lizzie Booker.
He graduated from Riverhead High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1955. He worked as a collection representative of the IRS in Medford. He married Daisy Harris in 1988.
In his spare time, he enjoyed rooting for the Yankees and watching football. He enjoyed reading his Bible and religious books and attending his church.
He is survived by his wife Daisy, his sons Lawrence of Amityville and Mark of North Carolina, his stepchildren, Lisa Richardson of Mastic Beach and Valerie Rocha of Delaware, his sister Carol Bright of Riverhead, 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Dec. 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Riverhead, where a going home service will take place at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Calverton National Cemetery.
