Pair charged in home invasion, beating in Mattituck

Two Southold residents are facing felony charges after attacking a Mattituck man in his apartment and holding him at gunpoint, according to Southold Town Police.

Police said Andrea Ovsianik, 27 and Christian Hansen, 38, entered the victim’s apartment on Deep Hold Drive in Mattituck early this morning and took turns punching him before taking his own shotgun and pointing it at his face, according to a police report. The pair then left the residence and left the area in a taxi. They were stopped by police on Route 25 in Cutchogue and arrested.

Hansen is charged with burglary in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, police said. Ovsianik is charged with burglary in the first degree. Additional charges for both suspects are likely to follow, police said.

They were held at Southold Town Police headquarters pending arraignment in justice court.
