A message from the publishers: SoutholdLOCAL says goodbye

SoutholdLOCAL will cease publication Dec. 31.

After four years of covering the wonderful communities of the North Fork, this was a difficult decision for us to make. We’ve enjoyed covering the news from Mattituck to Orient.

But after a careful analysis, we’ve decided to refocus our resources on areas that represent a greater potential for audience and business growth.

We appreciate the support shown to us by our readers and advertisers over the years and we thank you very much for that support.

We will continue to publish RiverheadLOCAL and its new Spanish-language counterpart, RiverheadLOCAL en Español. We will, of course, continue to publish regional news of interest to North Fork residents on our RiverheadLOCAL website and we hope you’ll continue to read our news stories and columns there, as so many you did before we launched SoutholdLOCAL in 2014.

We will also continue to publish a regional calendar of events that will include events across the North Fork, so please continue to send in your organization’s event listings. We curate the calendar to keep it useful and user-friendly — it’s also mobile-friendly for people on the go.

To get in touch with us with story tips or advertising inquiries, call 631-223-7648 or send us a message.

We intend to keep the SoutholdLOCAL website online, so you you can access the stories and photos we’ve published in the past.

Thank you again for your support.

With our best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year –
