Robert C. Lazuta of Mattituck died suddenly on January 6, 2014. He was 62 years old.
He was born in Brooklyn on August 26, 1952 to Elizabeth (Prach) and Constantin Lazuta and grew up in Westbury.
A North Fork resident for the past 20 years, he was a retired LIRR conductor. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, throwing darts, Disney World, warm weather and all things having to do with trains. His kindness and generosity will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife Carole J. (nee Martin) and siblings Diane Lazuta of Westbury, Richard of West Babylon, James of Brooksville, Florida and Catherine (Peter) Nettesheim of Huntington.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.
