Cops: 3-car smack-up on Sound Avenue sends victims to hospital

Update: Police have released the names of those involved in a three-car crash on Sound Avenue last night.

According to Southold Town police, Heather Gadomski, 22, of Greenport, was operating a 2006 Dodge eastbound on Sound Avenue at 12:11 a.m. when she crossed into the westbound land and struck two vehicles. The first, police said, was a 2003 Dodge driven by Jose Lopez, 37, of Jamesport, and the second was a 2014 Jeep driven by Michael Fetherston, 31, of Hoboken.

Doris Sorto, 21, of Jamesport was a passenger in Lopez’s vehicle and Jaclyn Crossley, 25, of Pearl River, NJ was a passenger in Fetherston’s vehicle, police said.

Mattituck Fire Department Rescue, Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps all responded to the scene and transported those involved to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

All vehicles were destroyed in the smack-up.

No charges were filed in the accident, police said.

Original story: A three-car accident on Sound Avenue in Mattituck early Sunday sent victims to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the accident took place at approximately 12:30 a.m., when one car, heading eastbound, veered into the westbound lane, causing the three cars to collide.

Victims were sent to both Peconic Bay Medical Center and Eastern Long Island Hospital, police said. Southold Town Police, Mattituck Fire Department Rescue, Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.

It was not immediately clear if any charges were filed in the accident.

The accident closed Sound Avenue in both directions during the investigation.
