Joan M. Condit of Peconic died at home on July 19. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of Cornelius and Elizabeth Van Bourgondien, she was born on February 12, 1925 in Bay Shore. She was a greenhouse worker for CJ Van Bourgondien Nursery and a Pink Lady at Eastern Long Island Hospital. She was also a member of the Cedarettes.
She enjoyed gardening, bridge, golf, boating, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, in 2008. She is survived by her children, Thomas of Florida, Sharon Grasso of Peconic, Barbara Murring of Tennessee, Ralph II of New York, Cathleen Harrison of Baiting Hollow and Joan Condit-Shaut of Illinois; brother, John Van Bourgondien of Southold; sister, Elizabeth Hutcherson of North Carolina, as well as 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Greenport. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the PBMC Foundation.
