Margaret I. Scharadin of Cutchogue died on Oct. 5, 2015. She was 76 years old.
Born in Southold on February 11, 1939 to John and Mary Norklun, she was raised in the house she was born in.
Known to her family and friend as “Muggy” grew up, she married and settled in Cutchogue. She raised two sons and then went on to get a nursing degree from Stony Brook.
She worked at ELIH, Stony Brook, Plum Island, Greenport Schools and private duty. She was also a “pink lady” for many years.
“Muggy” was an experienced world traveler and an avid collector of “stuff” with a keen eye. She had her mom’s green thumb and could root anything. The things she loved the most was to walk the beach and toil in her garden.
She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mom and a loving grandmother.
Predeceased by her husband Donald, she is survived by her sons, Daniel of Cutchogue and Jeffrey and Elizabeth (Grella) of Southold and grandchildren, Douglas and Abigail.
The family received friends on Sunday, October 11 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Memorial donations may be sent to Eastern Long Island Hospital, 201 Manor Place, Greenport, NY 11944.
