Benjamin J. Librera of Riverhead died Jan. 27, 2016 at Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. He was 83 years old.
Born in Brooklyn on March 20, 1932, he was the son of Frank and Mary (Langella) Librera.
Librera served as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and went on to work as a senior engineer for Dime Savings Bank in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife Audrey (nee Price), his daughters, Marie Russo, Joanne Librera and Dorothy McNeil, his son Benjamin Librera and by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
