‘Winter is for the Dogs’ comedy night to benefit North Fork Animal Welfare League set for February 20

Shake those winter blues with an evening of comedy to benefit the North Fork Animal Welfare League at the third annual “Winter is for the Dogs” comedy night.

Headlined by John LaRocchia, the evening of stand-up will also feature the talent of NYC comics Jason Salmon, Ellen Karis and Paul Corrigan.

LaRocchia, retired NYC fireman, has been a standup comedian for more than 25 years. He is the founder and president of the Laughter Saves Lives Foundation, founded in memory of the members of LaRocchia’s firehouse lost in the Sept. 11 attacks, including his best friend and fellow comedy writer. The foundation produces comedy entertainment for charitable organizations.

The North Fork Animal Welfare League operates animal shelters for the towns of Southold and Riverhead.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an 8 o’clock show at Osprey’s Dominion Vineyards, 44705 Main Road, Peconic. Advance sale tickets are $30 and $40 at the door. For tickets call 631-471-6335 or online .

Wine and beer will be available for purchase. No one under 21 admitted.
