John J. Carey passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 18, 2016 at the age of 95. John was a long time resident of Jamesport and more recently the Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing in Center Moriches.
He enjoyed playing the piano and was very devoted to his faith.
John was pre-deceased by his parents Robert F. and Marguerite (McGoey) Carey and his brothers Robert and Walter, and sisters Marguerite ‘Sis’ Hurley, Dorothy, and Catherine ‘Babe’ Bennett. He is survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 25 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
Friends and family attending the funeral are requested to meet at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead at 8:30 a.m. on April 25.
