Jean F. Smith, formerly of East Meadow, died at her home in Riverhead on May 22, 2016.
She was born July 8, 1921 in Manhattan to John and Frances Czapka.
She worked at the circulation payroll department for Newsday.
Predeceased by her husband Martin in 2014, she is survived by her children Jean Sumner Schneider of Tennessee, Ronald of Babylon, Victoria Weiner of Riverhead and Martin Jr of East Meadow, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on May 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home.
A Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27 at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment to follow in Calverton National Cemetery.
