Woodrow W. Hobson of Riverhead died at his home in Riverhead on June 14, 2016. He was 94 years old.
He was born on December 16, 1921 in Ballsville, Virginia to Marvin and Ellen Hobson.
After he graduated from high school, he served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II as a corporal.
He worked as a storekeeper and for Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.
He is survived by his wife Hazel, his sister Lucy Primm and his cousin Carnal Hobson.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Riverhead and on Tuesday, June 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church before the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with the Reverend Charles Coverdale and Assistant Pastor Cynthia Liggon officiating. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
